English-American businessman and computer programmer John McAfee has declared that Dogecoin’s recent success is owed to him, even going as far as to say the company has been up to nearly 1,000% after his decision to promote it. McAfee has further stated that he is not a fan of the United States government constantly filing charges against him on the grounds of suspicious cryptocurrency activities and projects.
Dogecoin among those that both Elon Musk and John McAfee believe are worth investing in
The pioneer of antivirus software, John McAfee, mentioned that he is only willing to invest in those cryptocurrencies which he personally believes are worth investing in. Dogecoin is thus part of his selection, and both he and Elon Musk have invested in the meme cryptocurrency. Mark Cuban is another personality that has also expressed interest in Dogecoin as well.
McAfee had chosen Dogecoin as his ‘coin of the week’ all the way back in 2018, and it would be tough to argue against his claims of DOGE enjoying considerable success as of late. As the world moves ever closer to adopting a totally digitalized form of trading, cryptocurrencies have and are expected to play a pivotal role in online markets. As such, the need for an alternative to hard cash and cash reserves has resulted in many cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, and of course, Dogecoin itself. What is interesting is that Dogecoin began as a sort of a joke, being primarily based on a meme that was popular some time back and has since enjoyed a resurgence in popularity and relevance.
The GameStop incident earlier this year was also a key indicator of people looking for alternatives, especially when it comes to individuals seeking to carve out their own way to financial success without having to rely on or be subject to the Wall Street bigwigs and their numerous rules, policies, and regulations.
‘Dogecoin has seen an increase of over %1,000 because I touted it’, says McAfee
Although many would associate Dogecoin with Elon Musk now due to him heavily supporting it, John McAfee remains adamant that he was the one who is responsible for its success. Ultimately though, only time will tell whether this ‘meme cryptocurrency’ will be around for much longer or whether it will be replaced by something else in the near future.
